About James Whitfield

James began his career at legendary Savile Row Tailoring house Anderson and Sheppard, where he trained as a cutter and tailor.

In 2012 he moved to Berlin where he worked for Purwin and Radczun as their head cutter, developing their bespoke business into one of the most highly regarded in Germany.

In September 2019 James set up his own shop and studio in the Kewenig warehouse. One of the most fascinating and exceptional buildings in the city, this former battery storage facility is now primarily the art storage space of noted contemporary art Gallery, Galerie Kewenig.

James’s philosophy is a simple one, „Elegant design, exquisite materials, beautifully made.” A belief which has won him many clients of discerning taste, amoungst them leaders in art, design, finance and industry.

Unique in Germany, James is the only savile row trained tailor working in the country today.
